15 Signs You Have Bipolar Disorder & What You Can Do about It

(Last Updated On: February 14, 2017)
  1. Unreal Belief in one’s abilities – Believing in your abilities is one thing, and blindly believing that you can achieve the impossible is another. Bipolar disorder does have the tendency to make you feel like a superhero, and while that is a good thing for people with low self-esteem, it can tend to lean towards delusion and believing in abilities that might not exist in reality.
  1. Decreased need for sleep – When you suddenly turn nocturnal, or realise that 3 hours of sleep seems to be more than enough for you it could mean there’s reason to worry. People suffering from Bipolar Disorder don’t feel the need to sleep for 6-8 hours like most of us do. Instead, 3-4 hours seems more than enough and they wake up feeling fresher than ever!
  1. Excessive Talker – This one is quite common among people, so holding this against someone as a sign for Bipolar Disorder wouldn’t really make sense, but nevertheless in a sea of signs this one stands out quite significantly. Talking a lot on occasion is one thing, but continuously keeping it up isn’t as easy unless you’re suffering from Bipolar Disorder, among other possibilities!
