Stroke is a “Brain Attack”. After a stroke, patient might have weakness or paralysis on one side of the body or problems while moving or doing everyday activities.

How can Physiotherapy Help

  • Practice of daily living activities
  • Manage Sensory motor deficit
  • Improve functional mobility and independence
  • Help in improving bowel and bladder function
  • Improve strength and motor control
  • Prescription of assistive and adaptive devices

Dos for Stroke Patient

  • Follow Proper positioning and lifting techniques
  • Go for General flexibility exercises
  • Changing position after every 2hours
  • Regular exercises
  • Eating healthy diet
  • Breaks at regular interval of time

Don’ts for Stroke Patients

  • Avoid lying in one position for long duration can lead to pressure sores or deformities.
  • Avoid holding patient from arms while transfers can lead to dislocation of shoulder
  • Avoid missing on exercise sessions and Medication
