You can definitely try the usual rice and wheat soups, but if you are looking for a healthier option, try other more benefiting grains such as millets, buckwheat and Amaranth. Although, these grains are not commonly used in soups, they are full of nutrients, vitamins and minerals which help maintain body weight and fight various diseases.

1. Amaranth is rich in Vitamin B and Vitamin C and helps maintain bone strength because of its ample calcium content.
2. Buckwheat prevents the onset of diabetes and is very healthy for patients with heart problem.
3. Millet is rich in manganese, iron and magnesium, minerals that are good for the heart.

In fact, you can also use various herbs such as rosemary, parsley and oregano to please your taste buds and enjoy your soup. Most of these herbs act as antioxidants for your body, keeping infections at bay.
